Perhaps December in NZ?

Charles' radio interview on ABC PM

Forecasting genocides before they can happen

Bonjour from France

We arrived in Dijon late on Saturday night after spending a day in Bern the capital of Switzerland. Early Sunday morning we went on a 27 km bike ride through the vineyards of nearby Beaune - quite hilly so had the opportunity to use ALL of the lower gears (and a tiny bit of walking). Missing you all very much. Could you see if there is a timeslot we could do a Skype call. Much love.

New boots!

Visitors welcome! xxx

We have been in contact with the owner and looks very likely that we will take it - waiting on the welcome pack contract paperwork to come through for Charles. We are currently thinking about what we could take versus cost to ship

It's the nicest house we have seen, good price + mostly furnished (need washing machine)
+ the potential for sun when it comes around!?

It's in a great location in the city centre - less than 2kms to the University, Hospital, Shops, Museum, Library everything!

I've started to make a little map - yellow house is place.

Should we live here?

Looks amazing! Is there enough room for Nannas & Pas and aunties and uncles to come and visit? Is it outrageously expensive? The other thought we had is there a way to structure your pay so that you can get an expense reimbursement for the moving costs or is there some type of allowance for moving costs? Missing everyone enormously.love Mum & Dad

Good Wine Hunting

Nicole and I spent a lovely three days tasting wine, making fires, chasing sheep and cooking food. Nicole loved buying good quality wine at bottle shop prices and sleeping in! I really liked the impromptu tour we got of the Iron Gate Estate by the winemaker himself!  Apparently we made his day asking proper questions and tasting his wine after his busy day with people basically going around the the wineries getting drunk for free. He was one of only three winemakers that present his wines in the valley and was very proud of his aged semillion in particular in which the valley is famous for. It was great to hang out with Nicole's friends. Unfortunately one couple couldn't come as they got food poisoning which was sad, but our group a six was pretty cosy :)

We can't wait to go again, beautiful scenery and so relaxing.

Butchering NZ

Received an offer call today from Otago University's National Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies - the answer was yes!

Details:
We are waiting on the paperwork from the university. But have agreed to start on the 2nd (Monday) of July 2012 and Charles will finish up his lecturing on the 15th of June.
We have also called Burdekin (bit nervous to do so) but they were wonderful in congratulating the move even though it puts them out a bit.
We are currently planning for Charles to go over and inspect a place and then move over with 2 weeks to unpack and get settled.
We are considering what to bring over but will look at some quotes.

Hello all,
Just came here today, didn't realise it was such a hot site, I haven't been getting email updates from here.
Anyway, we are well and looking forward to our Great Ocean Road trip on May 1st.
Few assignments to do before then.

Hello my darlings. We have such poor quality Internet access having trouble uploading photographs and getting a good connection so short blog from us. We have been in Lucca for the last 4 days and having a great time. It's a mediaeval walled. Ity and yesterday we had a bike ride along the top of the very wide city walls and then out along the river. Wonderful. Last night we had a Tuscan cooking course and meal. Food was delicious but soo filling. Today we travel to La Spezia and the Cinque Terre. Were praying for Charles at the interview. How did it go? Lachie and Nicole the photos of McMasters look like a country party for the landed gentry at their country house Anyone for a spot of tennis? Did Mash do his interview with Buzz yet and can he send us a link? And lastly how did Reuben ( and mummy and daddy) go with the move to the big boy's bedroom? Love you all heaps!!!
